Treasures of the Baltic Sea. Visit the unique Polish seaside town of Swinoujscie

Updated: Apr 7

We visited one beautiful and important destination on the coast of the Baltic Sea in the north of Poland. In addition to resorts and tourist destinations such as Gdańsk and, for example, Kolobrzeg, we present to you one more destination, the spa town of Swinoujscie.

This is nothing new in recent years, it is even remembered by tourists from the 80s of the last century who had the opportunity to visit it within the Eastern bloc.

Just like the entire coast of the Baltic Sea, which consists of long and sandy beaches, this city is the same, offering not only a wide range of quality accommodation, but also a number of attractions and opportunities for relaxation.

Swinoujscie is a spa port town and urban district in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northern Poland, located on three large islands - Uznoj (Usedom), Volyn (Wolin) and Karsibór and 44 small, uninhabited ones. The city is crossed by the Svina Strait, which connects the open sea with the Szczecin Bay. The sea port of Štětín-Svinústí is only a few km from the German border and another well-known destination is Heginsdorf (to which we will return).

We even visited this center for you 2 times (in May and July/August) to see for ourselves its qualities.

It is true that the period of May is not a period for a long vacation, rather it is about the possibility of a long weekend with the possibility of getting to know him at least for a few days.

The absolutely ideal period for summer holidays is the period of August, at most the beginning of September, when the air temperature ranges from 29 to 35 degrees and the water temperature is around 22 degrees. It is not the Aegean Sea in Greece, but it is still an indescribable and affordable experience for most of us.

The destination offers a number of accommodation facilities, newer of which were built in the last decade right next to the beach and completes the overall color of the current modern promenade. Along its entire length you will find not only shops of various kinds, but also cafes and restaurants where you can choose a wide range of food, especially fresh fish.

As for prices. This destination still belongs to those available, or much more accessible than perhaps other locations. Accommodation prices are certainly at a very decent and acceptable level. What is somewhat more expensive (it depends on the specific restaurant and is not a rule) are the catering prices.

We recommend booking accommodation several months in advance, for July and August it is not a good idea to book it already during the first months of the year. Although the price differences are not that different, it is more about the overall occupancy.

You can find a lot of interesting information about this destination (including accommodation) on the valuable resource visit.swinoujscie.pl

We wish you a happy journey and a wonderful holiday.
