Paris, January 29 - The number of men undergoing plastic surgery has almost doubled in less than a decade, according to the latest report presented Thursday by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) at the IMCAS annual congress of aesthetic medicine in Paris.
According to the published analysis, the number of surgical procedures for men increased by 95 percent between 2018 and 2024, while non-surgical aesthetic procedures such as injections, laser treatments and chemical peels increased by up to 116 percent. For women, surgical procedures increased by 59 percent and non-surgical procedures by 55 percent.
“This trend, which is particularly pronounced in the Middle East and Latin America, reflects a profound transformation in social norms and a growing acceptance of cosmetic procedures among men,” the analysis says.
“Generation Z and millennials are starting cosmetic medicine much earlier than previous generations,” the analysts add. Despite the sharp increase, however, cosmetic procedures for men still account for only 16 percent of all such procedures.
The United States remains the largest market for surgical procedures, accounting for nearly 45 percent of the global cosmetic and plastic surgery market in 2025. It also dominates non-surgical procedures, with American demand for Botox accounting for 56 percent of global demand.
