Emirates to resume flights to 16 destinations, four routes still suspended

DUBAI – Emirates has announced the resumption of flights to 16 destinations across its global network as part of an interim schedule running from May 1 to May 15, 2026, while four routes remain suspended.



The Dubai-based carrier is now operating at approximately 77% of its originally planned schedule, reflecting a steady recovery and expansion across key international markets.


Routes returning to service

The airline confirmed that services will resume to major destinations including Adelaide, Brisbane, Los Angeles, Miami, Osaka Kansai and Beirut, among others. The move marks a significant boost for connectivity across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.


Flights to Houston, Orlando and St. Petersburg are also set to restart, alongside routes to cities such as Kuwait City, Muscat and Phnom Penh.


Expansion across global network

Emirates is also increasing capacity on several high-demand routes through additional frequencies and aircraft upgrades.


In the United Kingdom, London Heathrow will see up to six daily Airbus A380 services, while Manchester and Newcastle also benefit from expanded operations. Dublin services will increase to 14 weekly flights.


Across North America, New York JFK will rise to 14 weekly flights, while Washington Dulles upgrades to daily service. Boston, Dallas and Seattle will also see aircraft enhancements.


Miami will return with four weekly flights continuing to Bogota, while Los Angeles, Houston and Orlando resume with three weekly services each.


Strong growth in Europe and Asia-Pacific

European destinations are seeing notable growth, with Paris, Madrid and Rome all increasing frequencies. Frankfurt and Munich will also expand operations, while Milan and Vienna see upgrades to the Airbus A380.


In the Asia-Pacific region, Melbourne doubles to two daily A380 services, while Sydney resumes nonstop A380

operations. Auckland, Taipei and Tokyo also see capacity increases.


India remains a key market, with Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore maintaining multiple daily services.


Africa and Middle East adjustments

In Africa, Mauritius returns to double daily A380 services, while Cape Town and the Lusaka–Harare route also expand operations.


Meanwhile, in the Middle East, Dammam doubles its service with A350 aircraft.


Four routes remain cancelled

Despite the expansion, Emirates confirmed that flights to Baghdad, Basra and Tehran remain suspended, along with the Male to Colombo sector. The airline noted that further changes to the schedule remain possible depending on operational conditions.


The latest update highlights Emirates’ continued efforts to rebuild its global network while adapting to evolving travel demand and regional conditions.
